SISA is developing Digital TV products, and is playing an integral role in establishing and maintaining Samsung's technical leadership in digital media. Our aim on Digital Media technology is: Develop algorithms which enhance the picture quality of digital displays, Develop Core technology of next generation digital TV for US market, Develop Digital Satellite Receivers and digital cable products, Research new technologies related to digital information, industrial trends and technical transitions of manufactures, and Keep pace with DTV Standardization. Our research is conducted in following 4 different areas: Algorithm, Core Platform, Cable STB, Standardization.
- Algorithm technology :
Develop Algorithm technologies for Video Enhancement, Signal Process and high resolution
image. We plan to develop the next-step of DNIe algorithm for video enhancement and scaled video.
- Cable digital TV technology :
Support DCR TV certification and establish field test area for CableCARD TV.
Our future plan is to develop next-generation TV solution for cable digital TV.
- Cable STB technology :
Develop cable STB technologies for satellite DirecTV Set-top box, and
establish live STB test environments. We will continue our research on DirecTV and cable set-top
box development and certification acquisition.
- Standardization :
Serve the role as the representative of Samsung in major standards organization such as
XHT-CEA and VESA along with conducting industry and market research. Especially for VESA (Video Electronics
Standards Association), SISA plays a leading role. Samsung has contributed greatly on standardization efforts, and
we will continue playing a major role in maintaining SamsungĄ¯s leadership in digital media standardization.
